“This year we’re very excited to treat our veterans, spouses, widows, widowers and Memorial Cross recipients with tickets to the world-famous Glenn Miller Orchestra concert hosted by the Brantford International Jazz Festival,” Dave Levac said in a statement. “After 18 years of the festival, this will be the final concert and will honor active and veteran service men and women.”

The concert is on Nov. 10 at 2 pm and will also feature displays from the Canadian Military Heritage Museum.

This year’s Thank-A-Vet luncheon takes place Nov. 2 at Assumption College on Shellard Lane. This is the 27th annual luncheon and doors open at 11 am followed by the program at 11:45 am

Tickets are available at the constituency office of Brantford-Brant MP Larry Brock at 108 George St., Unit 3, Brantford and all locations of Your Neighborhood Credit Union. Veterans, spouses, widows, widowers and Memorial Cross recipients are invited to the luncheon free of charge. Tickets are $35 for the general public.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone to this year’s luncheon,” said Levac, who, along with Bill Chopp, is the co-chair of the Thank-A-Vet committee. “But we understand that some people may not be able to attend so we are once again offering to deliver gift bags following the luncheon.”

Those veterans unable to attend can register for gift bag delivery by calling Brock’s office at 519-754-4300.

“We are extremely grateful for our hardworking committee, generous sponsors and donors and the volunteers who continue to support us so that we are able to continue this annual luncheon to honor our veterans,” Chopp said.
