Plane crash in South Korea – 23 dead

23 people died when a plane crashed at Muan Airport in southern South Korea, Yonhap reports.

The accident happened just after nine in the morning local time. The passenger plane, which had just arrived from Bangkok, skidded off the runway and crashed into a fence.

According to Yonhap, 175 passengers and six crew members were on board. 23 people died in the accident.

Rescue operations are still underway at the scene and an investigation is to be carried out to find out the exact cause of the crash.

The plane belonged to the South Korean company Jeju Air.
