A drone subject to regulations
Once the flight is over, Pixy lands directly in the palm of the hand, which it detects using a second camera placed under the device. On the image side, Snap indicates that its drone produces 12 megapixel photos and 2.7 k videos (probably a definition of 2,704 x 1,520 pixels) and has an internal memory of 16 gigabytes. Regarding autonomy, Snap announces five to eight flights, barely a few minutes.
However, keep in mind that despite its size, Pixy is well and truly subject to regulations regarding the use of drone. It is class C0 according to the new European regulations, which means that it does not need to be declared. However, the pilot must be registered on the AlphaTango site and affix his operator number to the device. It should not be used in the public space in built-up areas, even if for this category the overflight of a person is tolerated. And of course we must avoid prohibited areas. Pixy is already available for pre-order at a price of 249.99 euros, with a shipment expected in 11 to 12 weeks.
