Pixel Watch, Pixel 7/7 Pro and Pixel Tablet: what we know about the future products announced by Google

Pixel Watch Pixel 77 Pro and Pixel Tablet what we

During the keynote of its Google I / O conference, the manufacturer not only announced the Pixel 6a smartphone, and the Pixel Buds Pro headphones, but also gave a preview of its future products.

After many rumors, Google has officially presented its connected watch Pixel Watch, which will be available in the fall. All in curves, the watch benefits from an improved version of Wear OS 3, the fruit of the alliance between Samsung and Google, but also from integration with Fitbit.
Indeed, Google bought Fitbit last year and intends to use this know-how and offer bridges between the products of the two companies. For example, the Pixel Watch will use Fitbit’s latest algorithms for sports and health.
If we do not know the details of the sensors it will carry, we know that it will at least be able to follow your heart rate, given the various illustrations put forward by Google.
It will also track your sleep. In short, everything that Fitbit products could do should be within reach of this first watch designed by Google.

The giant’s apps, such as Maps, Wallet, Home and Assistant, will also be present. The manufacturer did not give a price, but indicated that the watch would have a premium positioning. Also, it will require a Google account and a smartphone with at least Android 8.0.

Two new smartphones in the fall

In the fall, Google will also launch its new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones. The manufacturer has shown some previews that reveal the design close to that of the Pixel 6, with the rear photo modules positioned horizontally.
However, the bar of the modules is made of aluminum, unlike the black bar of the Pixel 6/6 Pro. As on the Pixel 6 Pro, the 7 Pro model should stand out by also including a telephoto module.

No further details on the devices, except that they will use a new generation of Google’s SoC Tensor, and they will be powered by Android 13.

A new tablet for 2023

Finally, Google created a surprise by announcing its return to the tablet market after a sudden stop in 2019. The objective for the manufacturer is to offer a complete ecosystem in its product range. But the first images of the tablet are a little disappointing, with a dated design that could give pride of place to plastic.

For the moment, Google has not given any characteristics on its Pixel Tablet, which will not be marketed before 2023. But it is hard to see how it could not embed a Tensor processor, for example.

We will therefore have to wait to see if the tablet has enough strengths to cope with competing models from Samsung and Apple, which have benefited from many developments in recent years. The fact that Google has insisted on Android developments for large screens, with an ubiquitous Dock or multitasking designed to introduce more fluidity into use, suggests that the Mountain View giant is now more serious.
He has also promised that very soon about twenty of his applications will benefit from an overhaul to take advantage of the larger display space of tablets. Popular third-party apps will do the same.
With some delay, Google is following in Apple’s footsteps, and that’s obviously good news for users.
