Piteå-Bosse before the Spelskandalen: “More lay-in matches than ever before”

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

It was at the beginning of 1990 that the big gambling scandal began and the bandy team Boltic and the hockey teams Boden and Frölunda were at the center of information about lay matches and such heavy games that the state tip service lost approximately SEK 35 million, an enormous sum just over 30 years ago.

“No gaming mafia”

Now SVT made a series about the gambling scandal and the first two episodes were previewed in Stockholm on Monday and in Piteå on Wednesday ahead of the premiere on Monday.

And the interest was great.

In the main role is the player “Piteå-Bosse”, whose real name is Bosse Lundkvist and lives and works in Piteå.

– But this is not a documentary, but fiction, based on real events. There were several different gambling constellations, but no gambling mafia, as I see it. Our gang, which consisted of many well-known Norrbottings, has not been in contact with any players, but we played in the matches in question and we made significant progress financially in terms of the games on Frölunda’s losses, says Bosse Lundkvist.

“More laying matches today”

He believes that today’s trotting is vanishingly clean, but that there are lay matches in other sports.

– There is a lot of talk and talk, but it is true that there are more lay-in matches now than ever before and very heavy games.

How do you think you will be affected by the TV series?

– I sleep well at night and I know history. I know what has happened and what hasn’t happened. Whether there will then be a number of stabbings in the back or one way or another by sports teams or journalists, I don’t know. I still give the series a small thumbs up after the reactions I’ve received, but also consider it to be the fiasco of the century or good, we’ll see.

“I still play”

Are you still playing?

– Yes, I still play, but on like V75, V68 and Stryktipset and for a couple of hundreds of rupiah per time. It is very rare that I visit Oddset these days, says Bosse Lundkvist.
