The last Pirates of the Caribbean film, Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Salazar’s Revenge, hit theaters seven years ago. Since then, the popular adventure series has been in crisis and is trying to do what was planned Pirates of the Caribbean 6 to regroup. The rumored ideas of a pirate spin-off with Margot Robbie or an ocean trip with The Bear star Ayo Edebiri have so far remained vague. Most fans are interested in the question of whether Johnny Depp will return as Captain Jack Sparrow – which an influential voice in the franchise has now given hope for.
Johnny Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean return in Part 6 is not as unlikely as thought
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has had a say in the Pirates of the Caribbean films from the first part. Two months ago he talked about how the latest Pirates entry would reboot the series, “Because you don’t have to wait for certain actors”. The words appeared to put a stop to Johnny Depp’s return after his career collapse and court case with Amber Heard. But now the same Bruckheimer gave new hope to those who want to see the most iconic pirate figure of the present time again, telling ET:
Disney
Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise
If it were up to me, [Johnny Depp] come back of course. I would like to have him back [nächsten Fluch der Karibik-]Movie. He is fabulous. He is a great actor and a good friend. […] I definitely spoke to himbut we’ll see what happens.
Although Bruckheimer is an important voice in the Pirates franchise, the script and the Disney studio ultimately decide whether Johnny Depp will return. Since Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is still in the planning phase, we can probably get an answer to that in the cinema 2026 at the earliest expect.
