The future of the Pirates of the Caribbean series recently suffered a major setback. After a new part with Margot Robbie was planned, the actress buried hope on the project itself. According to Robbie, the project was dropped by Disney.
Now producer Jerry Bruckheimer has rowed back. The Pirates of the Caribbean movie starring Margot Robbie is definitely still in production. before has a second script but higher priority.

An ensemble film is to come before Pirates of the Caribbean with Margot Robbie
In an interview with The Wrap, Bruckheimer revisits the two different Pirates of the Caribbean screenplays that have been written for new installments in the series. He also says that the script for the film starring Margot Robbie implemented at a later date shall be.
First Disney apparently wants to implement the other script, about which there are hardly any details so far. Bruckheimer only revealed to The Wrap that it was a ensemble film should act.
Johnny Depp is not mentioned in the conversation. The next Pirates of the Caribbean film may be based on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which was also redesigned as an ensemble film after the death of leading actor Chadwick Boseman.
When will the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie hit theaters?, is yet unknown. It also remains unclear whether Johnny Depp could return to the franchise after his trial against Amber Heard.
