It has been 55 years since the filming of “Pippi Longstocking” began.
On Monday, Pippi, Annika and Tommy, or Inger Nilsson, Maria Persson and Pär Sundberg as they are actually called, were reunited.
And they are still the same.
– We have a strong bond, even though we haven’t met for a few years, says Pär Sundberg.
The Pippi Longstocking series, which began filming in 1968, was an immediate success and was seen by three million viewers in Sweden alone. But also in the rest of Europe, especially in Germany, it was a huge success – so much so that the child actors are still recognized.
On Monday, the three actors and childhood friends were reunited in Mallorca, and once again got to sign autographs.
German presenter suggested the meeting
It all started when Inger Nilsson, who plays Pippi Longstocking in the famous films, was going to appear on a German talk show. The presenter Bernd Reisig wondered how it was with “Annika” and “Tommy” – and there the idea for a reunion was born.
– We shared a few years of childhood together, says Inger Nilsson, who played Pippi Longstocking local mediaand continues:
– It’s fun to have done something that people have seen and like.
– To me, it feels like family, almost like siblings. We have a strong bond, says Pär Sundberg.
Only one actor still
For Pippi Longstocking, they only got “pocket money”, as Annika actor Maria Persson puts it. She trained as a nurse and moved to Mallorca for love, and she still lives there today.
Pär Sundberg left the acting profession and today works in marketing in Alicante, Spain.
Ingrid Nilsson has continued her acting career and has a new project underway.
