The pike is on the decline in the Baltic Sea. This is stated in a new study from the Swedish University of Agriculture (SLU).
In the study, published in Fisheries Research, three researchers at SLU have compiled 60 local measurements from eight countries on the Baltic Sea that have been made over the past 20 years.
-In the individual time series it decreases 15-100 percent, in some areas extremely strongly, says Jens Olsson, one of the researchers behind the study.
