What makes the Pikachu ex deck special? The most important card in this deck is Pikachu ex. You can add this Pokémon to your deck twice.

The card is characterized by the attack Round Course, which only requires two energy, but does up to 90 damage – because the damage of the attack increases by 30 for each of your Electric Pokémon on the bench.

Pikachu ex Deck – Which cards do I need?

There are different variants of the Pikachu ex deck because different Pokémon fit in here. A very strong version of the deck also relies on Zapdos ex and Raichu.

Card list for Pikachu ex deck:

  • Pikachu ex (x2)
  • Zapdos ex (x2)
  • Pikachu (x2)
  • Raichu (x2)
  • Pokéball (x2)
  • Potion (x2)
  • X Initiative (x2)
  • Major Bob (x2)
  • Professor’s Research (x2)
  • Sabrina (x2)
  • Strategy for the Pikachu ex deck: The ideal thing is to get Pikachu ex into the active position as quickly as possible and then stock the bench with more Electric-type Pokémon. This is how you increase the damage of circular courses. But Pikachu himself can’t take much, so you need other strong Pokémon.

Zapdos ex is also a powerful attacker, but he requires 3 electric energies for his strong attack “Thundering Hurricane” and can therefore only strike later. The attack also requires luck as you have to throw four coins. Each “head” causes 50 damage points – so there’s up to 200 damage possible. But it can also be fewer.

That’s why it’s good to build another strong monster in the background. To do this, develop Raichu on the bench. With X-Initiative you can quickly bring it into play for your downed Pikachu or Zapdos when you need a powerful attack. This is where “Major Bob” comes into play: The card shifts all of your energies on the bench to Raichu in the active position.

With Raichu you can then use “Thunderbolt” and deal 140 damage. This eliminates a majority of the cards in TCG Pocket in one fell swoop. But remember: This is where all the energies on the Pokémon go to waste. So there is something for the final attack in the game.

Alternatives: Ideally, you should always have Pikachu ex and Zapdos ex in your deck. Other cards that fit into a Pikachu ex deck include:

  • Elezeba
  • Zebritz
  • Voltobal
  • Lectrobal
  • Red card
  • Giovanni
