That crazy fantasy in her books is why she thinks Knor lends itself well to a stop-motion film like this one. “That is pre-eminently something where you can go completely over the top. If you do something that is normally a bit gruesome, it can still come across as funny,” she explains. According to her, a pig, a mean grandpa and a sausage match are the perfect ingredients for such a film. “There is a scene in which the pig hangs above the sausage mill. You see that thing really spinning. You can’t do that with a real pig, that is much too gruesome, especially for children. But here you see that they are dolls and that makes it less difficult for the children, I think. But at the same time it remains super exciting, because you empathize with the piglet and with Babs.”
