Amersfoort – Puck Pieterse has won the European mountain biking title for the second year in a row. The Amersfoort all-rounder rode away from five-time world champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot halfway through the race under harsh weather conditions in the Romanian ski area Cheile Gradistei. The Frenchwoman crashed shortly afterwards, saw the difference only increase and left the match.
