Today, May 10, is the National Day of Remembrance of Slavery, Trafficking and Their Abolitions. The opportunity to address a problem that is resurfacing in the public debate, that of the Haitian debt, namely the payment demanded from Haiti by France, 200 years ago, in 1825, of compensation of 150 million francs after its independence. Should France today commit to reparations or restitution? Pierre-Yves Bocquet, deputy director of the foundation for the memory of slavery, is the major international guest of our morning.
