Pierotti (Marche Multiservizi): “work is underway to renovate the sewerage collector. 5.6 million investment”

Pierotti Marche Multiservizi work is underway to renovate the sewerage

(Finance) – A process that began in 2009 and which will lead to the complete renovation of 7 kilometers of the sewer collector from Armellina Bridge (Petrian) a Canarecchia (Vallefoglia), thus giving an answer to critical issues purifying of the area and resolving the 2014 community infringement procedure regarding purification. The works will start in the next few days, carried out by Marche Multiservizi, for an amount of approximately 5.6 million euros, of which 1.7 million financed with Pnrr funds.

The remake of the collector, which mainly insists on the territory of Petrianis included in the strategy “More collectors, fewer purifiers” and is part of a project implemented by Marche Multiservices since 2009, to streamline the management of purification in the area, based on the reduction of small purifiers and the gradual collection of all neighboring areas through the redevelopment and modernization of existing collectors.

The overall project was carried out in functional sections on the basis of availability consequent to the planning of the Aato and saw, among other things, the upgrading of the purifier of Montecchio which today serves around 30,000 inhabitants and the decommissioning of four small purifiers (Molino Ruggeri, Apsella, Bottega and Montelabbate). Specifically, the design of the renovation of the Petriano sewer collector, serving the town of Roosterstarted in 2016 and at the same time the authorization process began which, unfortunately, was slowed down by theCovid-19 health emergency. The works, which barring unforeseen circumstances will be completed in less than a year and a half, were financed in part with funds from the Pnrr while the remaining part is part of the tariff recovery that will be carried out over the next 40 years.

“It is an important work because it has been awaited for over 40 years and I started working on it 10 years ago, as soon as I took office, to start the design phase – explains the mayor of Petriano David Fabbrizioli –. I thank Marche Multiservizi because they understood the need for the work and, together with the Aato offices and in agreement with the municipal administration, started the authorization process in 2016. Also due to Covid-19 the timescales have been extended a bit but today we can finally start with the works which will be completed within about a year and a half. After many years of citizens finding the purification fee in their bills, we are finally starting with the work to build the new pipeline.”

“Thanks to this intervention, Marche Multiservizi will create a new 7 km sewerage pipeline which, by connecting to the existing collector, will allow the collected wastewater to be conveyed to the new purification center of Montecchio, recently the subject of upgrading works, remedying the critical issues of the current sewerage system – explains the president of Marche Multiservizi Andrew Pierotti –. This is a large investment of 5.6 million euros thanks to which we will also remedy the infringement attributed by the European Community on the treatment of urban waste water, in 2014, for the Gallo-Cappone agglomeration”.
