Bringing a picnic is no longer possible at the concerts at Sofiero’s castle and gardens outside Helsingborg.
– The vast majority understand that we are not doing this to cause it, but because we have to comply with legislation and authority decisions, says operations manager Carolina Lundholm at Sofiero’s castle and gardens to P4 Malmö house.
In Eskilstuna, however, visitors can take the baskets with them to the annual event Picnic in the Park in July, states Eskilstuna-Kuriren. There, the concerts are held in an open area, and there is no ban on picnics.
– If, on the other hand, we were to take and build a fence around parts of the park, we would have had to have it. That’s how we got it explained to us from the police, says Peter Torsén, one of the organizers, to the newspaper.
The bag ban was introduced last autumn with reference to the increased risk of terrorist acts in Sweden.
