Local support continues to be strong for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Chatham-Kent.

There was another large turnout on Saturday for the CK Pride Parade and Festival held in downtown Chatham.

The event has been well attended since the first Pride parade was held in Chatham in 2018.

This year’s parade was followed by a Pride Fest event at Bill’s Place, a safe space on Center Street, operated by CK Gay Pride Association. Several events were also held during the week.

Christine Johnston, 35, of Chatham, rates the local Pride festival a nine out of 10.

“It was amazing this year,” she said. “Overall I would say it turned out very well.”
