The Finnish men’s floorball national team’s World Cup tournament has culminated four times in the atmosphere of a golden celebration. Will the gold rush be completed this year?

The Men’s World Floorball Championships will be held in Malmö, Sweden, from 7 to 15. december shows all matches in Finland on its channels.
The broadcast of the Finland-Sweden World Cup final starts on TV2 on Sunday at 16:35.
The Finnish men’s national floorball team has advanced to the World Cup finals a total of 12 times. Four of these times Finland has celebrated the world championship.
World Cup gold has always come from consecutive World Cups with Sweden alternating since 2008. So would it be time for Finland to celebrate again when Sweden has won the last two world championships?
2008 Prague and Ostrava
In 2008 in the Czech Republic Tero Tiitu made Finnish floorball history when he dunked the ball into Sweden’s net in overtime. In men’s team sports, this World Cup gold was only Finland’s third, following the world championships in ice hockey (1995) and ice ball (2004).
2010 Helsinki and Vantaa
The home games in December 2010 culminated in Finland’s second consecutive World Cup gold. In the final, it defeated Sweden 6–2.
2016 Riga
Finland returned to the gold standard in 2016 in Latvia. The championship was decided after a tight fight. The decision was only made in the penalty shootout, where all Finnish shooters succeeded.
2018 Prague
This time, the golden celebration in the Czech Republic started immediately at the end of the actual game time, as Finland beat Sweden 6–3 in the final match.
2024 Malmö?
History’s Fifth World Championship is available for Finland on Sunday, December 15. in Malmö, Sweden. Finland and Sweden will clash in the final starting at 16:50.
