While 5G has started to roll out in some countries, companies like Nokia and Huawei have already set their sights on 6G. It is not clear when 6G, which will add speed to the speed of mobile internet, will be available. However, Nokia CEO Pekka Lundmark shared her prediction on this subject and made very interesting statements.
WHEN WILL 6G COMING?
According to CNBC’s report; Pekka Lundmark spoke at a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Lundmark stated that it believes that 6G will officially enter commercial markets by 2030. However, by making an interesting statement, he revealed that the smartphone as we know it today has no future.
FROM OUR POCKETS TO OUR BODY
The Nokia CEO was asked when the world will transition from using smartphones to using smart glasses and other face-worn devices. Lundmark said that this will happen before 6G arrives and used the following statements:
“Until then, the smartphone as we know it today will certainly no longer be the most common interface. Most of these will be placed directly inside our bodies.”
NEURALINK AND MORE… ALL WORKING
Nokia CEO Lundmark did not explain exactly what he meant by saying that. However, some companies, such as Neuralink, under the direction of Elon Musk, are trying to produce electronic devices that can be implanted in the brain. Maybe that’s exactly what Lundmark meant.
