Both medical facilities are unable to receive incoming or make outgoing calls through the main phone line due to a cable being damaged during construction, officials from the Brant Community Healthcare System said Monday.

“Rest assured we are working diligently to resolve this issue and would like to reassure the community that this outage is not impacting the care being provided to loved ones,” said a release.

An alternate phone line has been put in place. Patients, families and community members can reach the switchboard at 548-328-0878. Wait times may be longer than usual due to having a single phone line in operation.

“We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time,” said the release.

Updates will be provided when lines are back in working order.

Construction work is being done at the emergency department at Brantford General Hospital.
