WAVES INCREASED TO 14 METERS
PAGASA stated that the wave height on Catanduanes Island reached up to 14 meters and warned that settlements in the region, including the capital Manila, may be exposed to waves as high as 48 meters.
“Landslides are now more dangerous for those living in prone areas because the ground has become saturated due to typhoons,” Civil Defense Office Executive Director Ariel Nepomuceno said in a statement. he said.
While Typhoon Man-Yi was the 6th typhoon seen in the country in the last month, at least 160 people lost their lives due to previous typhoons.
