(Finance) – On the occasion of the International Forum of the Mediterranean “Southward”organized by The European House – Ambrosetti, Philip Morris Italy announced the official opening of the new Digital Information Service Center in Italy: the Philip Morris DISC Campania. The Centre, based in Marcianise (Caserta), is aimed at adult consumers of the combustion-free products of the Philip Morris group in Italy.

The news was given in the presence of the Minister for European Affairs, the South, Cohesion Policies and the PNRR, Raffaele Fitto; Marco Hannappel, President and CEO of Philip Morris Italy and President of the South-Western Europe area of ​​Philip Morris International; Valerio De Molli, Chief Executive Officer of The European House – Ambrosetti; Gennarino Masiello, National Vice President of Coldiretti; Luigi Scordamaglia, Managing Director of Filiera Italia and Luigi Traettino, President of Confindustria Campania.

The Philip Morris DISC Campania, managed by a leading company in the branch of digital consumer servicesre, already employs 220 people and consists of a total investment of around 50 million euros over five years. The Marcianise site integrates the company’s customer care activities on the national territory. Like the Taranto and Terni sites, the Philip Morris DISC Campania is also equipped with the most advanced and innovative customer relationship management (CRM) systems, based on a complete digitization of processes and on the use of the best cloud technologies.

Also this investment is part of an integrated Made in Italy supply chain, unique at a national level, which from tobacco leaves reaches consumer services employing over 38,000 people.”

With this Philip Morris Italia investment – reads the note – confirms the importance of the South in its growth strategy; an importance recently relaunched, among other things, also by the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding between Philip Morris Italy and MASAF signed last March, with which the company undertook to invest 500 million euros over five years ( 2023 – 2027) for the purchase of Italian tobacco. Philip Morris is in fact the most important tobacco buyer in Campania, accounting for 65% of the region’s tobacco production. It is estimated that the direct, indirect and induced economic impact of the investments of Philip Morris Italia on the agricultural tobacco supply chain in Campania is equal to 82 million euros on an annual basis.

The opening of the Philip Morris DISC Campania follows that of the DISC inaugurated in Taranto, at the end of 2020, where almost 400 people are currently employed. Last On April 13, the company announced the opening of an additional Center in Terni (DISC Umbria), which provides for an additional 150 jobs by 2023.
