Swedish naval forces contain high levels of PFAS chemicals, shows an analysis by the research company Testfakta.
The company analyzed eight brands of crayfish, fresh or deep-frozen, that are sold in Swedish stores.
A person weighing 70 kg cannot eat more than three to six Swedish crayfish in a week, without reaching the guideline value for PFAS set by the EU’s food safety authority.
It is not clear why Swedish crayfish in particular contain high levels of PFAS.
