Simon Pettersson struck in his very first throw and was noted for 69.84 – a new personal record and also a record for a Swedish championship.
That makes Pettersson, who is usually overshadowed by training partner Daniel Ståhl, third on this year’s world best list.
Ståhl scored 68.67 in his first throw and is thus second behind Pettersson.
