An explosion occurred on Saturday evening at a villa in Lövstalöt, north of Uppsala, at an address that the police guarded.

The neighbor Petter was already worried about being hit by an accident before the crime.

– We have put up signs with the names and pictures of us who live here so that no one gets the wrong address, he says.

Petter, 38, was talking on the phone at around 10 p.m. when he suddenly saw a bright blue light through the window.

– Then I heard an explosion and felt a pressure wave against me. Everything went very quickly, he says.

In the next room was his 12-year-old daughter Lilly.

– I immediately ran over and hugged her. She was in shock, says Petter and continues:

– Then we went down to the basement for protection and avoided looking out the windows in case the explosion was followed by any shooting.

The area has been monitored

The police previously had the address under surveillance due to the ongoing wave of violence. In October, a surveillance camera was installed in the area, but was later removed.

– Many have wanted to make it so that the camera was taken down the other day and that it then went off immediately, but it has been gone for some time. It’s a privacy issue. We cannot have surveillance everywhere all the time, says police spokesperson Roland Komaromi to TT.

“The explosion still echoes in my head”

Petter himself has felt a concern that something will happen in the area. Therefore, he has also tried to reduce the risk of accidentally being the victim of an act of violence.

– We have put up signs on our doors with names and pictures of us who live here so that no one gets the wrong address. We live right next to the house that was blown up, says Petter.

The explosion destroyed several windows at Petter’s home, but the incident has also left other traces.

– Right now it feels okay and it is partly because we were prepared for it to happen. But it was unpleasant and the blast still echoes in my head. The light, the sound and the shock wave, he says.

Two arrested after the explosion

On Sunday morning, the police stated that two people had been arrested. According to information to Aftonbladet, one of them is in his teens and was arrested in a taxi on the way from the crime scene.

The explosion is also connected to the conflict surrounding gang leader Rawa Majid, according to reports.

One person was in the home that was the target of the crime. The person was taken to hospital by ambulance but had minor injuries, according to the police.

The incident is being investigated as aggravated vandalism and attempted murder.
