During a press conference at Gothenburg City Museum, it was revealed on Wednesday morning which artists will be chosen this year in the Swedish music hall of fame. The five new names are The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Petter, Monica Törnell, Lars Gullin and Brita Borg.
The hip-hop artist Petter was not present himself but says by phone to DN that he sees the tribute as a receipt that he has been part of Swedish music for a long time.
– Next year I have been doing this for 25 years. What I am most proud of is that I have been doing this for so long and that I have been very consistent in my creation. I have always thought it was very fun. For me, it has been a lot about my passion and love for the language.
The reason why the press conference is being held in Gothenburg is that on Wednesday it will open an outdoor exhibition about Gothenburg artists who have been elected to the Swedish music hall of fame. Among the artists are Håkan Hellström, the National Theater and Broder Daniel.
Five new artists in the Swedish music hall of fame
The five newly elected to the Swedish Music Hall of Fame are:

The basic idea behind the Swedish music hall of fame is to pay tribute to the richness of the Swedish music treasure – and those elected must have made their record debut at least 20 years ago.
The honorary nomination has existed since 2014 and since then 66 artists have been selected. Including: Abba, Roxette, Cornelis Vreeswijk, Björn Skifs, Timbuktu, Håkan Hellström, Ebba Grön and Evert Taube.
