Calle Halfvarsson is expecting her second child.
Then his former arch-rival Petter Northug can’t help but be snarky.
– They will hear some stories about when dad… says the Norwegian to Norwegian TV2.
Calle Halfvarsson, 34, made his debut in the World Cup in 2009. Since then, the Falun son has taken four victories in the World Cup, of which three individually and one in a team. When it comes to podium places, Halfvarsson has a total of 22, of which 17 are individual. The 34-year-old has participated in three Olympics and three WCs, and has won three WC medals.
Northug & Halfvarsson
During his career, Calle Halfvarsson has had a bit of a thorn in the side, by name Peter Northug, until the Norwegian retired his skis in 2018. Northug is regarded as one of the best cross-country skiers of all time, and won several major titles while active. But he is also known for his big winner’s skull, cocky personality, as well as being a bit of a bully, who liked to incite his opponents at competitions.

Northug didn’t particularly mind teasing his Swedish competitors, and Halfvarsson got the worst of it. This made the Norwegian and the Swede a bit of arch rivals until 2018. Something Northug admitted afterwards that he has a bad conscience about.
– Yes, of course I have. We were active enemies – then I didn’t even greet him. He was one of my rivals, so I wanted to give Calle a bad name in Norway. And then I also got the people with me, he has admitted in an interview with Expressen.
Baby happiness & chicks
On Monday, Calle Halfvarsson announced that he and his partner Isabella expecting her second child. The couple has since before the son Casper who was born in June 2022 and can be seen below. As Calle travels a lot during competition season, much of the responsibility falls on Isabell, but the cross-country skier may have a solution for that.
– It will be a little more for Isabell, who is at home and takes a big load. Two children and then she studies at it. I have to try to do everything I can, both at home and away. Might have to buy in a nanny, says Halfvarsson to Aftonbladet.

Even though Northug said that he and Halfvarsson are good friends today, he can’t resist giving the future father of two a proper dick.
– Impressive! Now he has succeeded twice, then it is no longer a coincidence. I see he is looking for a ‘nanny’. I’m happy to volunteer, so they can hear some stories from when dad ran the relay against Petter, says Northug to Norwegian TV2.
