Petter Northug steps into the Biathlon World Cup as a TV expert.

On Wednesday, the Biathlon World Cup in German Oberhof gets underway and the premiere race will be the mixed relay. Where Sweden has very good chances and lines up with the following teams: Sebastian Samuelsson, Martin Ponsiluoma, Hanna Öberg and Elvira Öberg.

The one who has the most to prove in Oberhof is the Swedish prospect Samuelsson, who has not had a successful season at all so far. The 26-year-old has not managed to score a single podium at the World Cup and his form feels weak.

One who is not at all impressed with the Swede’s performances this season is the former cross-country star Peter Northug, who steps in as an expert for Norwegian TV2 during the Biathlon World Cup. The Norwegian now begins the championship by sawing the Swede completely.
– I would be very surprised if he takes an individual medal in the WC. “Sebbe” has not been recognized in the track this season. He hasn’t looked as good as he usually does, says Northug in an interview with SportExpressen.
– Sebbe is not happy when he runs out of medals. And when it has gone the way it has for him before the World Cup, that it hasn’t worked for him, it’s important to look ahead.

Like “Sebbe”
While the Norwegian men’s skaters have completely dominated the World Cup during the season, Northug still hopes that Samuelsson can step up and give them a fight for the medals in Oberhof.
– I hope he is in better shape now, and can give the Norwegians a game, they have been absolutely incredible this winter. If Sebbe gets a good start here in Oberhof, it can certainly go well, but as I said, I would be surprised if he won an individual WC medal in this championship, says the Norwegian skiing legend to the evening newspaper.

Despite the weak efforts this season and the mocking words before the WC, Northug still likes the Swede. And above all how he often sends slips and passes to the Norwegians, just like a certain Petter Northug always did during his active career.
– Sebbe is very honest and open when he meets the media. It’s great that he’s not so politically correct all the time. I think he needs to be like that, not least for his own sake. I really like Sebbe and I hope he succeeds, admits the Norwegian expert in the interview.
