The crash during the SC final last spring was the definitive end of Petter Nårsa’s snowmobile career.
Before that, he had already had time to stop and come back. But after sustaining serious injuries at the SM, the snowmobile was parked for good – at least as far as the competition context is concerned.
However, something new may be in the works. In an interview with NSD, he now hints that he may be on his way back – but on water.
– It is very popular to drive snowmobiles on water, so I have looked a little in that direction, he tells the newspaper.
“It’s gone off the rails”
Although the injuries from last spring are not completely healed yet, he has bought a jet ski. He also had time to test drive it before the ice began to settle.
– It has clearly derailed. It was well understood that it would too. But I’ve started on time anyway, then it’s going to be stressful for the summer anyway. I am completely new to this and want to build the scooter myself instead of buying something ready made. I learn more if I get to handle the settings myself, he says.
Although there are risks involved in riding a jet ski, given his injuries, it is less risky than snowmobiling. If he will invest in competing also on water, however, it is not something he answers directly yet.
NSD: Will there be a WC in watercorss next year?
– We’ll see…
