It is a slightly nervous Petter Alexis Askergren who meets SVT Nyheter Jämtland. It is the first time that the artist has exhibited in Jämtland. Now at Ahlbergshallen.
– It was a tough selection here, I had an extremely large amount of stuff with me, he says.
Inspiration from both places
Several of the paintings depict a gray and hard Stockholm, while the pastel colors that depict Jämtland are taken from autumn.
– I am a big part of my life here and Jämtland is fantastic in that way with the nature and the colors. The contrasts to being raised in a big city, says Petter Alexis Askergren.
“It’s hard for me to close my eyes”
But it is not only from Sweden that he draws his inspiration from.
– It has been very difficult for me to close my eyes to what has been going on in Gaza. So there are three works I hope to sell because one hundred percent will go to Gaza.
