Peterborough man charged following fraud investigation in Brant County

A 48-year-old Peterborough man faces fraud-related charges following a Brant County OPP investigation at a Paris business.

Officers were sent to a financial institution on Grand River Street just after 11 am on April 18.

Upon arrival, officers were told an individual had been at the financial institution to open an account. The individual was asked to provide documents, which officials at the business believed to be fraudulent.

The accused has been charged with possession of an identity document and using a forged document. He has been released from custody and is due to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on June 6.
