Nygård was on the witness stand before the jury for the first time.

Finnish-born fashion designer by Peter Nygård82, the trial has continued on Wednesday in Toronto, Canada.

Nygård was now on the witness stand for the first time heard by the jury, says the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation CBC.

Nygård is accused of sexual crimes and deprivation of liberty. The sexual crime suspicions date from 1988 to 2004, when he is suspected of committing sexual violence against four women and one minor. Nygård has denied the charges.

Prior to Nygård’s hearing, the Toronto court has been hearing testimony for weeks. According to the CBC, the plaintiffs’ statements have been graphic and disturbing. American magazine of The New York Times all five plaintiffs said that Nygård took them to a secret bedroom in an office building in Toronto, where Nygård sexually assaulted them.

Nygård said he suffers from memory lapses

On Wednesday, the court heard Nygård’s testimony about his property in the Bahamas, where secret sexual acts allegedly took place. He denied claims that the Bahamian property had a secret sex den.

– That’s a no-brainer. There was nothing like that.

During the trial, Nygård talked about his childhood, his family’s move from Finland and growing his clothing company.

During the treatment, he had difficulty remembering dates and names. Nygård told jurors he was increasingly suffering from memory lapses.

– It’s almost embarrassing that my memory suddenly goes blank.

Nygård denies the charges

Nygård’s lawyer Brian Greenspan Nygård testifies that he does not remember meeting four of the five women who accuse him. In addition, regarding the fifth accuser, Nygård “categorically” denies all accusations.

– It’s hard to have memories of things that didn’t happen, Greenspan told the court on Tuesday. In addition, he stated that the women’s testimonies were inaccurate, unreliable and implausible.

Nygård is scheduled to continue testifying today, Thursday.
