Fantasy fans agree that the three films in the Lord of the Rings trilogy are among the best film adaptations ever. But when it comes to choosing a favorite, the discussion becomes more elaborate. It is because of the consistently high quality of the series extremely difficult to choose the best of the three parts.
Recently, Peter Jackson, director of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, was asked about his favorite. His answer also comes with a reserved reason.

So the director cannot be definitively pinned down on this choice. But it could be quite a while before Jackson changes his mind again. In an interview with Letterboxd he also says that he I can almost never watch his own films again.
A lot of time would have to pass before he was ready to view his works again. It remains to be seen whether he still considers The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers to be the best part of the fantasy trilogy.
The new Lord of the Rings movie is scheduled to be released next year
