Sweden’s national security adviser Henrik Landerholm has let taxpayers pay for private trips abroad, revealed The evening paper on Monday morning. These are at least nine trips to Berlin, where his current partner lived at the time.
According to the government office, it is about two flights for a total of SEK 7,500, as well as SEK 1,638 for a train ticket and costs for a courier company.
The revelation comes after several others. Landerholm has recently been reviewed by Today’s News on the grounds that he forgot classified documents at a course farm, his mobile phone at the Hungarian embassy and a notebook at Sveriges Radio.
“Forgetfulness and carelessness”
The Social Democrats’ defense policy spokesperson Peter Hultqvist believes that Henrik Landerholm should resign.
– There have been five or six different cases now with forgetfulness and carelessness as the basic platform for Landerholm. And he has also broken the Government Office’s internal rules on how to store documents. Now this thing with private trips has come about and it’s getting to be too much now, says Hultqvist to TV4 Nyheterna.
– My opinion and ours is that it is time for him to pack up his things, clean his desk and simply stop. He is responsible for national security, and his credibility is severely damaged, S-toppen continues.
The demand for Kristersson
Peter Hultqvist wants the prime minister to act now.
– He can no longer be protected by the bonds of friendship with Kristersson. If he doesn’t understand himself that he has to stop, Kristersson has to make sure that he does.
Hultqvist has previously requested that Kristersson answer questions in the Defense Committee about his security adviser, something that the committee refused.
– Of course they protect Kristersson from having to be confronted with this case, but it is still a reality that exists. Now more has come to light and we publish our opinion that it should be game over now.
