Peter Forsberg’s senseless tribute to Gabriel Landeskog – does not hold back after the NHL title: “Always 100 percent”

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

Peter Forsberg was in the last Colorado Avalanche to win the Stanley Cup.
When Gabriel Landeskog has now had to lift the dent, Foppa is impressed.
– He has been 100 percent in every match, says the icon.

It has not been an easy year for Gabriel Landeskog since he took over as team captain for the Colorado Avalanche just over 10 years ago. He then became the youngest team captain in NHL history, and that came with a lot of responsibility.

Mighty tribute

But Colorado has not always been as strong as this season, and just five years ago it was the team in the entire NHL with the lowest points harvest. But Landeskog has stayed on, proved to be one of the NHL’s best team captains – and now the reward has come.

After a tough final series against Tampa Bay Lightning, Avalanche was the champion – for the first time since 2001. One of the heroes then was Peter Forsberg, who now pays homage to Landeskog.

– He is a fantastic leader. When the contract expired last, it was incredibly important to keep him in the organization, because he seems to be an incredibly good leader on the side. On the ice, he has always stood up, quarreled, fought and been one hundred percent in every match. He has been a big part of this team, says Foppa to SVT.

“Well worth it”

Peter Forsberg is very happy about Colorado’s success, not least as he is well acquainted with Joe Sakic, who is now a GM in Colorado. They were both radar partners in Avalanche during their active careers.

– I think it’s great fun. They have been down and turned and were among the worse teams for a while. They have since drafted properly and in recent years they have almost been favorites. I know how the atmosphere in the city has been and that they have felt the press. It must have been incredibly nice for them to win. I know Joe Sakic and many on the medical team. They are well worth it, he says.

Foppa has contacted Sakic to congratulate, but he has not had any contact with Landeskog.

– Landeskog seems to be full, says a funny Forsberg, and continues:

– He seems to enjoy the days, which he should also do.
