We all know what it looked like. Forsberg took the puck to the left and made cager Hirsch move, before he put the puck over on the right side and poked it into the net with just one hand. A maneuver that the Canadian goalkeeper was not prepared for.
– Immediately when his hand started to move in the other direction, I thought it was over, Corey Hirsch has previously said.

“It was just luck”
The penalty went in with a margin of a few millimeters under the goalkeeper’s picking glove, and according to “Foppa” himself, he had to do something different to succeed in outsmarting Hirsch.
– I was really useless at penalties. I only had two different ways to beat them, and the first one I had already used in the group stage, so I had to come up with something new, Peter Forsberg told The Athletic.
