Peter Forsberg is forced to choose his absolute dream five from his career – and picks with the very greatest legends

Peter Forsberg is one of Swedish hockey’s absolute greats.
But it becomes very exciting when he is forced to name his absolute dream five.
Then “Foppa” chooses some serious legends and three Swedes in the super gang.

It’s hard to argue against that Peter Forsberg is one of Swedish hockey’s greatest players of all time. He was a rarely seen hockey talent and achieved incredible success during his hockey career.

Forberg’s career

Despite severe injury problems that ruined many years for him, he still managed to become one of Sweden’s top NHL players of all time. “Foppa” broke through as a super talent in Modo and then took the leap across the Atlantic to conquer North America.

Forsberg has won the Calder Trophy as the best rookie in the NHL, he also has the Art Ross Trophy as the winner of the legacy scoring league, received the Hart Trophy as the league’s most valuable player and won two Stanley Cup titles with the Colorado Avalanche. He has also achieved great success with Tre Kronor and won double Olympic gold and double WC gold.

Best teammates

Peter Forsberg is truly one of Swedish hockey’s absolute giants and he has played with so many great stars in the NHL over the years. When the Swedish icon himself is forced to name his absolute dream five by teammates during his career, it is a rough dream eleven he builds.
– Oh, this won’t be easy. As a goalkeeper, it is probably Henrik Lundqvist or Patrick Roy. I played more with Roy so it will probably be him then, says Foppa in a TV interview with Expressen.
– The back side will be Nicklas Lidström and then maybe (Rob) Blake, (Ray) Bourque or (Adam) Foote. Nah, I’ll probably say Foote maybe. He was tough to play against and good to have around, he had to fight instead of me at some point.

When it comes to the three forward positions, it is still extremely impressive that Forsberg selects two Swedes as the best he has ever played with. Then he picks both Markus Näslund and Mats Sundin in the dream five.
– Forwards, it will be “Macke”, (Joe) Sakic too, I must say. Maybe “Sudden”. But there are many I forget, I have played with many good ones. The Sedins were also very good. But I’ll probably say the first three anyway.
