A patient expressed suicidal thoughts in his contact with healthcare, but was left without help and took his own life a few days later, reports P4 Örebro.
The patient was admitted to one of Region Örebro County’s hospitals, but was discharged to receive continued care via home visits and telephone calls.
At the last home visit, the patient expressed suicidal thoughts, but despite this, no action was taken. The person then took his own life.
As a result of the incident, the region has notified itself according to lex Maria.
