One person is in police custody following an early-morning shooting in Hagersville that left one person with serious injuries.
Officers with the Haldimand OPP responded to a report at about 2:45 am Saturday of a person suffering from a gunshot wound at West Haldimand Hospital in Hagersville.
The person was airlifted to a Hamilton hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.
A short time later a person was arrested by members of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit. Charges had not been laid as of early Saturday afternoon.
This is believed to be an “isolated incident with no additional threat to public safety,” said police.
