One person has been shot at the Kungsmässan shopping center in Kungsbacka, and life-saving efforts are underway on site, the police told The Express.
The mall has been evacuated, which Gothenburg Post was the first to report on.
The evacuation alarm is confirmed by Johanna Hammarbergbusiness manager at Kungsmässan, but she can’t say why.
– We have a close dialogue with the guards and I know that there are police and an ambulance on site, she tells the newspaper.
Chaotic atmosphere: People were urged to seek immediate shelter
Several people are said to have raised the alarm about gunfire, according to Aftonbladet. They write that witnesses on the spot should have heard loud bangs and that the alarm was triggered in the shopping center at the same time that visitors were asked to “seek shelter immediately”.
– I completely panicked and thought “what’s going on?”. It was such an incredible bang, so you react, says another witness The evening paper.
One person arrested
– One person has been arrested, says Christian Brattgård at the police to Expressen.
The police operation is still ongoing at the scene.
– I know nothing about the arrested person and have no further information about the person who was shot. For preliminary investigation reasons, we cannot provide more information either, says Christian Brattgård.
