A man has been found shot in Eskilstuna.
At least ten shots have been fired and the man is seriously injured.
A large police operation is underway at the scene.
The police were alerted on Friday evening about loud explosions in the district of Skiftinge in Eskilstuna.
At the scene, a man was found with gunshot wounds.
– We have a shooting, that is established. We received a lot of calls from people who heard loud bangs. We found an injured person fairly quickly, says police spokesperson Magnus Jansson Klarin.
“Ten shots”
According to the police, a large number of shots have been fired. Pictures from the scene show how a car was hit with several shots.
A building has also been hit with shots, the police say.
– There are witnesses who called in and heard a large number of shots. There are at least ten in any case, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.
The condition of the injury is described as life-threatening.
The police are now setting up a large cordon at the scene.
– We would like to get tips from the public as soon as possible if any person or vehicle has been seen leaving the scene. Then you can call 114 14.
The incident is being investigated as attempted murder and aggravated weapons offences.
