Employees at the service center heard cries for help on Christmas Eve. The calls were localized to a pool in a neighboring building.
A resident then clung to the edge of the pool, the wheelchair was found at the bottom and the staff called an ambulance. Two days later the person died.
An investigation revealed that the person was able to get to the pool, which was supposed to be closed, because of a broken door that did not lock.
The newspaper VLT now reports that the municipality has made a Lex Sarah report to the Inspectorate for Care and Care (Ivo). Businesses that provide certain care are obliged to report any malpractices to Ivo.
