During Monday, SMHI issued several yellow and orange warnings for snow and wind, and some parts of the country may receive between 30 and 40 centimeters of snow according to TT.
In northern Norrland, it is around 30 degrees below zero and the Swedish Transport Administration has already gone into national staff mode. The snowy weather has resulted in slippery roads and several accidents.
Woman dead after plow truck accident
In Trollhättan, a woman was hit by a snow plow and died from her injuries. Relatives have been notified. The alarm about the accident was received at 17:19 on Monday.
– We have written a report about negligence in traffic and have confiscated the plow truck and a bicycle, says the police officer on duty, Pernilla Henry.
Train traffic was also affected by the weather. Several departures between Kiruna and Luleå had to be cancelled, as well as on the route between Gothenburg and Oslo. In addition, several flights, both domestic and international, have had to be canceled or delayed.

Road traffic has also been affected, with several minor and major accidents due to slipping.
The one that had the greatest impact on the traffic situation was a lorry that drove into the center barrier on the E4, north of Huskvarna. The accident happened at 3 p.m. and the truck is said to have become suspended over both lanes.
– It has driven into the road barrier and we have a minor leak of diesel. We have started emptying the tanks but have to dig out the leak, says the rescue service’s command operator.
The road had to be closed and traffic diverted. Initially, the road was not expected to open until Tuesday morning, but could open as early as 9.30pm on Monday evening.
The truck driver is uninjured.
