A person who was in the home has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The police made an unusual discovery when they checked a car on road 622 in Smedjebacken during Friday afternoon.
Everyone in the car was under 15 – even the boy who was driving.
The police contacted the young people’s parents, who were allowed to come and pick them up.
The underage driver is now suspected of traffic offences.

Tons of medical supplies are to be flown to Syria
50 tons of medical supplies are to be flown to Syria via Turkey, the EU Commission announces.
The products, which are in one of the EU’s warehouses in Dubai, are to be flown to Turkish Adana, near the Syrian border, and distributed in the country in the coming days.
A further 46 tons of aid material will be driven from a warehouse in Denmark to Adana and then distributed by the UN’s Unicef and the World Health Organization.
According to the UN, one million people – mainly women and children – have been forced to flee since the rebel offensive, which led to the overthrow of dictator Bashar al-Assad, began.

Trendy Stanley mug recalled
The company Stanley is recalling 2.6 million of its thermos mugs because the lid can fall off and cause injuries from hot drinks.
The recall covers Stanley’s stainless steel Switchback and Trigger Action travel mugs. The lids can shrink when exposed to heat or torque and thus fall off.
The products were mainly sold in the USA but also via Amazon between June 2016 and December this year.
According to the US authority Consumer Product Safety Commission, Stanley has received 91 reports worldwide of lids coming off, 38 of these reports are about burns.

Nancy Pelosi, former speaker of the US House of Representatives, has been taken to hospital after an accident in Luxembourg.
Pelosi, 84, is currently receiving “excellent care” from doctors and continues to work, her spokesperson wrote in a statement.

Five cars are involved in a traffic accident on the E6 in Strömstad.
This is reported by P4 West.
Emergency services and several ambulances are called to the scene.
Nine people would be injured, according to P4 West.
– The alarm came in at 14.54. Then it involved a collision between two cars, says Jens Andersson at the police in the west region.
Later, three more cars are said to have collided.
The radio’s information later turned out to be incorrect. According to the police, only two people have been allowed to seek treatment. One for neck pain and one for shock.
The road is currently completely closed in the northbound direction.
The police are currently on the scene and are assisting the emergency services.

On Tuesday, a man was hit at a bus stop in Pettersberg in Västerås. The witnesses stated that a car driver deliberately targeted the man and then departed from the scene.
The incident is being investigated as a suspected attempted murder.
Now a man has been arrested – suspected of having tried to kill the other man with his car, reports P4 Västmanland.

Authorities have given planning permission for the skyscraper “1 Undershaft” in London’s financial district City of London, reports the Financial Times.
It is about a 74-storey office building at 309.6 metres, which will be one of Western Europe’s two tallest buildings alongside “The Shard” in London, which was inaugurated in 2012.
“1 Undershaft” is to be built next to the existing skyscraper in the financial district called “The Gherkin”, which with its 41 floors and 180 meters high opened its doors in 2003.

Two cars and two trucks with a total of five people collided on national highway 30 outside Sävsjö on Friday.
The police write on their website that “It is icy at the scene and a strong warning to all other road users.”
All those involved got out of the vehicles on their own and no one is expected to be seriously injured, however, there is a total standstill in traffic on national highway 30.
Both trucks are blocking the lanes and the police are on site to direct traffic.

On Friday, police and an ambulance went to a school in Eslöv where a girl in her early teens had been abused.
– There is talk of two girls who had a fight, then I don’t know if there are more. In any case, it is a girl who hit and kicked and one who was injured, says Fredrik Bratt, police spokesperson.
The extent of the damage is currently unclear. An ambulance is on site to see if anyone needs help.
Later, the police announce that a report of assault has been drawn up and that the investigation is looking good.
– We have good hopes that we can get information about who was involved in the fight, says Bratt.

Investigator Magnus Hermansson suggests that Sweden switch to an auction system for permits for offshore wind power.
Marine plans and other relevant plans shall be indicative. Based on those plans, the state must identify suitable areas.
The system must take place in cooperation between the actors affected, for example the municipalities. But that does not affect the municipalities’ right to decide.
Today’s system involves several problems, according to the investigator. But they are to be solved with the new system, where the state points out areas where it is possible to build wind power in the sea, and interested parties will be allowed to bid in an auction for the right to build wind power.

Lucia train in accident – ten injured
A Lucia train has been involved in an accident in Östersund. Ten people are involved, reports P4 Jamtland.
It is a minibus and tow truck that collided in central Östersund.
The police told the channel that Lucia’s party, which had just visited a hospital, was on board the affected minibus.
One person has been taken to hospital by ambulance.
There is no further information on the state of damage.

The emergency services rushed out from two stations when they received an alarm about smoke development at Northvolt Labs in Västerås on Friday.
Northolt Labs conducts research into lithium batteries, which are highly flammable.
– There is smoke spreading on three floors and all staff have left the premises. No reason has been found for the development of smoke at the moment, says Alexander Westerberg, emergency operator at the emergency services.
Later, the emergency services announce that the smoke came from an overheated fan and that they are ventilating it out of the property.

Two people have been injured after they were hit by a swerving city bus in Linköping.
One of the people has suffered head injuries and will be taken to hospital for treatment. The other suffered minor injuries.

François Bayrou, 73, of the centrist Nouveau Center party, is named France’s new prime minister. It reports Le Monde.
After several days of political deadlock, the new prime minister was now presented by President Emmanuel Macron.
The former prime minister, Michel Barnier, had to resign in early December after a vote of no confidence by both the political left and the right in the country.
Distrust grew against the former prime minister when he pushed through a budget proposal in parliament without a vote.
