Perseus Karlström won the bronze in the 20 kilometer walk and thus defended his bronze from the World Cup in Doha three years ago.
– It is the toughest race I have done in my whole life, says a pumped-out Karlström SVT Sport shortly after the finish.
The 32-year-old was in the lead for a long time, but in the end it was a sprint battle against the Kenyan Samuel Gathimba for the bronze. There, a very strong Karlström managed to find his way back to the forces and win the duel.
Karlström shares the podium with two Japanese, where Toshikazu Yamanishi took gold in front of compatriot Koki Ikeda.
