Perpetrator of World Cup murder sentenced to two years less

In 2022, Appie L. was acquitted of murder by the judge and convicted of manslaughter. The judge decided that he had to go to prison for 11.5 years. But L. appealed. The judge decided on Friday that he should serve 9.5 years in prison, instead of 11.5 years. The sentence was reduced because it took almost 14 years to resolve the case. The manslaughter was in 2010 and the final verdict came this year. As a result, the reasonable period has been largely exceeded.
