Pernilla Wiberg, 53, sits on two Olympic golds and four World Cup golds. She is one of Sweden’s foremost alpine skiers of all time, but in 2002 she put her professional career on the shelf.

But even though she no longer competes, “Pillan” is still in top form.
In 1994, Pernilla Wiberg moved to Monaco, where she still lives today with her husband Executioner Bjerke and the couple’s two children. Of course, Pernilla has not cut ties to the alpine completely – she runs the extremely popular hotel Pernilla Wiberg Hotel in Idre fjäll.

When Pernilla was interviewed by Expressen’s supplement Healthy living so Pernilla told us more about life in Monaco and how she trains to stay in shape.
– If we don’t have any ailments, Bödvar and I usually train together at home in Monaco. On Mondays we run for an hour, on Tuesdays we swim. On Wednesdays, a group from different countries gathers in the square. Then we go up the mountain for two hours and down again. Then everything is discussed between heaven and earth!, Pernilla tells the newspaper.

Pernilla’s career has brought her – and millions of sports fans worldwide – much joy. But also pain. Over the years, she has had a total of twelve knee operations, after injuries she sustained during the years on the slopes.
– On Thursdays I go to the gym for my knees. I get a bit of a problem otherwise, I’ve had twelve knee operations. Friday is free choice. Sometimes we clean. Other times we sit on the exercise bike at home in the apartment and work at the same time. Multitasking, Pernilla Wiberg continued then.

– This thing about walking in water. If you have a little pain in your joints and such. It’s mumma, says Pernilla Wiberg in Stjärnorna på slotlett – and jumps into the Swedish, cooling water with weights around her ankles and free weights in her hands.
