The government allocates 200 million per year in the budget to restore and build wetlands from 2023. The total next year will be 300 million.

– It is a permanent investment that the government chooses to make, says Environment and Climate Minister Romina Pourmokhtari (L) to SVT.

The purpose of the project is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions caused by leakage from ditched wetlands.
