Pepsi has been reducing sugar content for several years

In recent years, the sugar content of several Pepsi products has been reduced, which “was well received by consumers”, according to Casper Danielsson who is communications manager at Carlsberg.

– The background to this is the ambition to offer healthier products, including lower sugar content, in the range. Therefore, the recipes are occasionally updated among products that are not sugar-free, such as Pepsi Regular, he tells Nyheter24.

When the sugar was reduced in Pepsi Regular last, in 2021, they went from 150 to 100 calories per can. But now another sugar reduction has been made.

– The new recipe contains 4.55 grams of sugar per 100 milliliters and has 18 calories per 100 milliliters. The old version of Pepsi Regular had 7 grams of sugar per 100 milliliters and 28 calories per 100 milliliters.

According to Danielsson, the recipe change is being made in several markets at the same time.
