A 56-year-old man drowned in Kultsjön in Klimpfjäll in Vilhelmina municipality on Sunday evening.
The alarm went off just before half past nine on Sunday evening and when the emergency services arrived at the scene, the man was found, who later died.
– One theory is that he was fishing and fell in, but that is unconfirmed and we do not yet know what happened other than that he fell into the water and drowned, says Fredrik Nilsson, officer on duty at police region North.
The police have started the investigation into the course of the accident in order to determine as far as possible what happened, but there is currently no suspicion that any crime has been committed in connection with the accident.
