This is how much you get in housing allowance as a pensioner
In one fact sheet which the Pensions Authority published on 1 January 2025, they account for what proportion of housing costs are covered based on the size of the supplement.
“For you who are unmarried, the compensation rate is 100 percent of housing costs up to SEK 3,000, 90 percent of housing costs that exceed SEK 3,000, 70 percent of housing costs that exceed SEK 5,000 and 50 percent of housing costs that exceed SEK 7,000, up to SEK 7,500”, they write and add:
“For those of you who are married or cohabiting, half of the housing costs apply with the corresponding levels of compensation, up to SEK 3,750. There is an addition of SEK 840 if you are unmarried and SEK 420 if you are married,” they write.
This means that the highest compensation that can be paid out in housing allowance to pensioners in 2025 is SEK 7,290 per month if you are unmarried and SEK 3,645 per month if you are married.
